Casa Bonita closed in 2005 over 'rent disputes'. It seems another restaurant Casa Viva has replaced it but the Carousel is gone and it is unknown if they have any 'amusements' left of any quantity to meet any classification of 'Amusement Park'.

According to reports, Casa Viva will be opening it's doors in about 3 weeks. This was about a week ago, so I'm figuring around the end of the month. They are owned by the original Casa Bonita creator and are opening in the former Casa Bonita location at 21st and S. Sheridan. Unfortunately, the previous owner removed the wonderful (if somewhat worn) carousel. It's a shame that unique attraction will not be a part of the arcade anymore. I'm still looking forward to seeing how well they fixed the place up inside and judging if the food has improved from before.

Casa Bonita Restaurants in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Denver Colorado, Tulsa, Oklahoma, home of Oral Roberts University is a sprawling city three and one half hours from Branson, MO and less than two hours from Oklahoma City on Interstate 44. Tulsa, the home of country and western superstar Roy Clark, is known primarily for its oil conglomerates, but one of its buried treasures is the Casa Bonita Restaurant (there is also a Casa Bonita in Denver, Colorado).

Although not heavily advertised, it is VERY popular with the locals, serving approximately 10,000 guests each week.

Unique Atmosphere

Casa Bonita is so much more than just another Mexican restaurant. The decor is basically Mexican Atmospheric - in other words, you feel like you are walking through a Mexican villa - stars twinkle in the dark blue ceiling, a tree limb hangs over your head while in line for your food, an erupting volcano rumbles and glows on the horizon every 30 minutes, and in the Acapulco Room, a 30 foot waterfall cascades gently into a lighted pool. The Denver location even has cliff divers right in the restaurant!

Dining rooms run the gamut from booths in caves to wrought iron patio furniture in the courtyard to formal Mexican eating areas - each with its own unique decor.

Built in 1971 at a cost of nearly $4,000,000, this facility boasts over 30,000 square feet of charm.

Family Fun

Casa Bonita Restaurants in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Denver Colorado, Casa Bonita caters to children - and to the child in everyone. The numerous entertainment activities include a puppet theater, a life sized costume character named Bananas, and an arcade whose prominent feature is a Victorian era carousel. Strolling mariachi musicians even strum around the courtyard serenading patrons.
