After Fontaine Ferry Park closed and sat abandoned for several years another try at a park evolved in 1972.

Ghost Town on the River opened and lasted about three years. After it closed another park made a try. River Glen Park. This Park only lasted one year. 1976 there was a fire that burned much of the park. The rides that survived the fire were auctioned off. The Carousel ended up with Six Flags near Chicago. There has been a effort to return it to Louisville. It is reported the last 'asking price' for the Carousel was $1,500.000 but I'm not sure what year this was.
